Handcrafted entirely in the UK, we are proud to bring you our finest collection to date. The Hunter Collection is a collaboration between Barbarossa Brothers and bladesmith, Korben Bloomfield. Both logos are proudly displayed on the handle.
The collection pays homage to Sheffield's Benjamin Huntsman, one of the original creators of the straight razor, who produced decorated handles and hollow-ground blades made from cast steel, using a process he invented.
Each straight razor is produced using traditional techniques and the finest materials, no compromises are made. Due to the amount of time invested in each straight razor, we do not keep these in stock and they are purchased on a pre order basis.
To Pre Order your product, add to basket and we'll book in production. We'll also follow up to see if there are any special requests or variations you'd like to make to the razor.
Please note that production can take around 8 weeks. If you'd like to get a more accurate view, you can contact us in advance.
The Sanmai blade is made from three layers of 80crv2 and two shims of pure nickel. These are carefully welded round all edges to ensure perfect lamination. The billet is heated to 950 degrees C and forged out by hand to give a nice pattern once the bevels are ground, polished and coloured using Korben's ‘special black’ process.
The scales (handle)
We start by cutting the handles from a single piece of wood. The lacewood is dyed and stabilised. These are profiled, shaped and finished all by hand before pairing with the blade. They have nylon washers and are held together with a peened phosphor bronze pin.
Each razor takes around 8-10 hours to produce and will last a lifetime with the right care and maintenance.
