The Hayreddin Damascus Steel Straight Razor

HAYR-1

Barbarossa Hayreddin's naval victories secured Ottoman dominance over the Mediterranean during the mid 16th century, from the Battle of Preveza in 1538 until the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. This handmade, UK produced, straight razor pays homage to his success.

Combining damascus steel with ebony scales, this 8/8" straight razor fuses British craftsmanship with the world's finest materials. The razor is forged, ground, polished, finished and sharpened by hand along with the ebony scales. The damascus steel reveals a unique patterning which weaves through the blade and is accompanied by wave like scales, nodding to the roots of our pirate ancestors.

Titanium washers, also produced by hand, are punched out of a sheet and turned down to size to prevent the pin splitting the scales. A nickel silver pin is peened at both ends, holding the scales together. Finally the scales and the pin are then polished and oiled before the blade is honed and stropped, ready for shaving.

The result is a one-of-a-kind, collectable razor that will take prime position in the finest of bathroom suites.
